Congratulations to Dr Maria Nugent and Dr Tiffany Shellam (a 2007 postgraduate student)  for publications nominated for book awards.

Dr Maria Nugent's book 'Captain Cook was Here' has been short-listed for the Nettie Palmer Non-Fiction Award.

Dr Tiffany Shellam's book 'Shaking Hands on the Fringe: Negotiating the Aboriginal World at King George's Sound' was shortlisted for the State Library of WA History Award, in the Western Australian Premier's Book Awards.

'Shaking Hands on the Fringe' was also commended in the Victorian Premier's Literary Awards for a first book of history.
